What revs are you talking about and what is your tickover set at ? Dont try lugging at low revs twist the throttle . Also what carb are you running ,has it got an accelerator pump ? S and S super Bs dont for example and you need to roll the throttle not bang it wide open . If you're just round town do you get the motor good and hot now and again to get the carbon off the plugs ? Bit more info would help

You are lugging this bike way below normal RPM. Try to keep it above 3,000. This will probably help your carbon problem too.

Beyond that, check out the sticky on "Plug Reading 101" then do some accurate plug reading to see what the engine wants to tell you.

Try adjusting your accelerator pump setting. If your plugs are sooting up, it's too rich. A good combination of jetting is .295/68. I'm running those jets and after 3500 miles, the plugs are clesn with a slight tan to them.

Is it 100% stock?

If any mods, what?

Try riding at what it should be ridden... and do take it up to 6000 rpm half a dozen times.... now check the spark-plugs... now how's it looking?
