air leak from intake
hello I have Sportster xlh model 1982 and one day I have problem with the float I take off the carburettor and fix the float problem, but after this i have poor acceleration have intake leak from the rubber manifold what can I do now please help.

I would start by putting on some new intake rubber bands. Then reseat the manifold to the heads. Is your carb supported with a brace to the engine?

The manifold is usually steel or aluminum. It might help to say what carb you have; this might explain why there is a rubber manifold, or rubber connection between the carb and the manifold.

If it is a clamped rubber connection between the carb and manifold they often crack.
The carb MUST be supported, at the air filter backing plate is best.
|

yes support to the engine
