I guess this is still my winter "beater" for the next couple of weeks (until my new Wrangler JKU comes in!!!).

It's actually a bit of a hoot - just under 200 hp turbo, AWD, but with the creature comforts (heated leather, SAT/NAV, premium sound etc.):

I live down south, so my regular drive to work "beater" is also my winter beater...it just turned over 270,000 miles and is still going strong...

If it ain't broke, don't fix it (especially if you don't know what you're doing). Most Sportster problems are owner-induced.

I ride my Road Glide in the winter, unless it's pouring down rain when I get ready to leave the house. I don't mind riding in the rain if I get caught out in it, but I don't like to be wet at work all day if I can avoid it.

If it's pouring when I get ready to leave, I choose between one of these two trucks.

My 2006 Dodge 3/4T 4x4 with the 5.9L Cummins Turbo Diesel

My 1962 Chevy C10 with the 327cid (3.4L) small block V8, SM420 4Speed, and Holley 4165 650cfm 4 barrel carb.

Both have their good and bad points. The Dodge will go more places, but the Chevy is a lot more fun.

Nice four wheelers, but that is one ugly bagger. Reminds me of the 70's area bikes with a vetter fairing.

Job got set back again. Contract re-negotiations. I'll let you know when I get close. Little strand and fiber run, pick up some untaxed money.
