I use Seafoam for stabilizing the gas over a long winter. I don't run the carb dry but I make sure the carb has had the stabilized fuel run thru it.
Air up the tires to maybe 5lbs. over max. pressure.
Don't wet wash it, just remove the dirt, dust, bugs from paint and chrome (damp cloth) and polish the paint.
Turn fuel petcock off, remove the battery and store it at least 2ft off the floor. I've found that setting it on a wooden board helps keep moisture, from humidity, off the battery.
I never use a tender, I store it in the house where I know the temp stays above 50F. I put a trickle charge on it in spring, for about 5 hrs. Most of my batteries last 6 years or longer.

Clean Bike meticulously and wax tins. The slightest dirt dust attracts moisture.
Fresh engine oil / filter change. Primary fluid. Trans on BT
I change My bikes brake and clutch fluid if slightly dark.
Lift bike off tires or at minimum park tires on something soft that don't attract moisture.
If building has power spend the 50 bucks on a real battery tender jr 1.25 amp. If not still buy the tender and pull battery and charge it to 100 percent. My 2007 GSXR still has the factory battery and that battery sat all winter many years before I drank the battery tender kool aid. If its a dusty windy building I cover with a very breathable bed sheet.
Fill tank with Real Gas (non oxy) and put 2 to 3 oz red Stabil in and run long enough to get thru system. I used to fog intake / carbs but quit doing that for winter time storage. turn off petcock if carb bike. Some do some don't drain float bowl I would drain it if bike ever ran ethanol fuel but may need to clean the primary jet come spring but 8 out of ten times should be good . I also on easy access plug bikes pull plugs and give a generous spray of fogging oil and put bike in gear and spin tire to coat cylinders. This is My Nov thru march sometimes April storage. feel like I'm forgetting something but it looks all there. FI bikes are so much more forgiving to fuel issues.

Changed oils. Added STABIL, filled tank. Yes should have used alcohol free. Closed petcock, ran dry. Coated all exterior surfaces with wax. Could not get a battery tender. Or get bike off the ground. Expecting to need new battery next winter

Running the carb dry and leaving the petcock closed is the best thing on the list. If you put a tender on the battery, put it someplace where it can't do any damage if it catches on fire.
