Default Question for Ken! =)

I have a Buell Blast 2007, 515ccKit installed, stage 2 ported heads, 10.5:1 piston, Jardne RT-1, and very open intake.

I have it set now with CVP 46/175 NOKT needle with a .060shim and 3.25 turns out on CVP EZ-Mixture screw. YOST emulation tube at the moment, but just purchase the CVP to replace.

I have the innovate LC-1 running o2 sensor and I am running 12.9~14.4 idle, but jumps to 15~ on downhill deccel, no throttle. Pulling to 3.5K rpms(still breaking in 515 top end), I stay in the 12~13.3's. I want to stay safely rich.

I just purchased the CVP velocity and the CVP N65C to add to my toolbox. I have every CVP jet {lol} in my box, so on to my question.

What would be the best setup in "theory" for me in athens, ga 758~1000 feet above sea level.

Hi Daali, I just replied to your email question and hopefully that will be a good starting point. Your Blast has a slightly different carburetor and configuration than the Harley/Buell v-twins but hopefully I can point you in the right direction.

Thanks Ken!

I look forward to changing the yost out to the CVP and the CVPN65C! Thanks for your help! My sportster runs all CVP as you can see in my sig, and it is dead on perfect.

My 'lean' is just at the o2 sensor(8") from port. The only actual lean feeling I got was with the blue yost needle, 3rd from the top with a 45/175. I quickly swapped that out. Thanks for the education in the email sir!

Changed to the CVP N65C needle with .060 shim, lowered pilot to 45 from 46 2.75 turns out. Also switched from the Yost tube to the CVP tube. Throttle response is pretty great, although no WOT yet due to break in. o2 sensor stayed in the 12s, no rises or bogs, very little popcorn on decel, downhill, no throttle.

I still think it is rich, I may need to take the shim off

Pulled the shim. Runs better, pulls hard, no bogs, no hesitation, no rise off throttle, sensor readings leaned out a tad, not much, but better. Still a little(very little) popcorn on decel, downhill, no throttle, but the numbers stayed below 14.9.

I am going to run with this now, need to check early morning 5am work commute, as it will be 20~25 degrees cooler with less humidity.
