Default Pre lube the rockers?

Heya
73 xlh been sitting a few years. I am trying to pre lube the top end before attempting to start up. I read the Sticky by Gar which was helpful. But I am not sure how to squirt oil into the rocker boxes?
Thanks for advice, direction n comments.
Cheers
Donnie

He most likely was referring to removing cap on the right side of rocker shaft and squirting through shaft.

if you want to and do not have the pre-lube tool, look at the rocker box on the right and either frt or rear of each box, you will find a 1/8npt plug. remove a plug and attach a grease gun hose to it, does not need to be tight. have a clean gun and fill with your flavor of oil and pump to your heart's content. do the other and you are on your way.

notice the plugs

If it was run or assembled with lube it will be fine to just start it up.

As long as the oil pump is working...

removing the rocker arm end caps to do this may cause a leak there.risk vs.negligable reward.

Tatro had a non pumper. He put some oil in through the timing hole and had a rubber cap he put in place of the oil cap and used compressed air until he got oil out of the tube at the top feeding the rocker box on the rear cylinder. Me thinks he pinched off the return line to the tank. Just make sure your pumping oil though. He knew right away something was wrong when he fired it up initially. Mine sat for 5 yrs. On mine I looked for oil returning to the tank. I guess that still doesn't mean that the rockers were not getting oil. But I am pretty sure they must have been.
