Default 2006 XL1200 OEM Battery Dimensions

Hi all,

I wanted to try and contribute back to this forum that has given me such great info over the years.
I was trying to search around online and find the exact dimensions of the OEM battery as I hunt around for my replacement, wondering if i'll go back again with stock or not.
I was having a hard time finding the exact OEM specs of the size of the battery and couldnt find any info here or elsewhere that had a definitive sizing.

Since the thought crossed my mind while i was at home (for once, rather than always happening when i'm away) I was able to go out and take a measuring tape to the battery and measure it.
Here's what I came up with:

2006 XL1200R OEM Battery Dimensions (Depth x Width x Height)
3-1/4 x 5-1/2 x 5-3/4

I feel inclined to include the ~exact~ measurements I got which may be due to measuring tape inaccuracies or whatever but i also got:
3-5/16 x 5-9/16 x 5-3/4

so i could be off by roughly 1/16 of an inch on those measurements but i dont know that it makes much diff overall.

Thanks for posting your specific OEM measurements.

The Sportsterpedia section on batteries has dimensions that are compatible with those you reported - I think the SP listed dimensions are based on the Deka model shown there.
