It is always interesting to read the posts through out the XLFORUM, and it is equally obvious that many in here have differing opinions. The helmet issue has gone on for decades now and won't be settled in here by any of those that think it will. Most of the issues in here are discussed (usually) with pomp and circumstance, knowledge, personal experience and respect for the others opinion and some not quite as respectful and civil as it could and/or should be. Sort of like real life, I guess.

I agree. It's always good to "agree to disagree" and move on to another topic. I wish the rest of the world could do this.

What does the helmet issue have to do with mileage?

There were various posts about helmets back in 45 and 46, I was just giving my personal view of what others were saying about helmets, yes, a few posts back, but some of us have memory recall. But to answer your question, it has nothing to do with mileage ...it doesn't now and it didn't back in 45 and 46 either.....I was not aware that we can only refer back to the post just prior to what we post.....kind of restrictive thinking, but we all use whatever brain cells we have left and at my age it is concerning......

Something much further back than recent posts should be quoted.

You seem to have restricted thinking, not me, nor should people need to read 450 posts back to try to comprehend your incoherent babble.

So someone derailed the topic once and you think it's okay to bring it back up and derail again years later.

But, some of us have forum etiquette and manners.

I can remember when I joined the forum and wanted to learn all I could. This meant that I started at the beginning of a lot of posts which went back several years. For some reason, some members think these old posts should not be brought up again. In my case, these posts were all new information. When I had questions about some of them, some members of the forum responded to me very rudely that I wasn't allowed to do that.
I'm glad there isn't an expiration date on information. Not everyone has been on this forum for years and we are anxious to learn. Being rude is a good way to discourage new members to remain here.
