Default Anyone using the V&H FUELPAK FP3 currently?

Hi folks, firstly wishing you all a safe and wonderful summer

I'm contemplating to use a tuner, V&H Fuelpak FP3, on my son's 2011 XL 1200N Nightster.

I don't read much recent first hand experiences or talks/posts/ here or on the net generally. What's up with this device? Anyone using a fuelpak fp3 on a EFI Sportster? Happy? Unhappy?

The bike is a stock 2011 XL 1200N Nightster. Nothing wrong with it. Only looking to optimize the tuning with the stock hardware. Perhaps replace the air-filter. No further ambition for the moment. Not expecting any magical power increase

Brilliant! Thank you so much! How this post didn't show up in my searches? Now I understand the added value. This is hugely informative. Thanks again

I don't know if you made your purchase yet but here is my take. I have used power commander products on my past 3 bikes and was very happy. Since I was only doing stage 1 on my 13 XL1200C I decided to give the FP3 a try. it was @$75 less that the powervision which was not the determining factor. 1) after 2 contacts (map updates) to customer service I still have the lite throttle bobbling/surging & communicaion has dried up. 2) FP3 autotune makes little difference after multiple attempts on different maps, I then did some minor spark adj & AFR adj with some improvement. 3) the bluetooth often takes multiple attempts to connect. I checked with local dyno tuner as I am done with the FP3 and was told I needed powervision or some other dynojet product for them to tune the bike. NO ONE I could find with in 200 miles of atlanta tunes with FP3. So now I have 2 options 1) live with it as is, 2) buy the powervision and get it tuned if their canned maps don't tune out the bobbling/hesitation/surging in the 2500- 3500 rpm range. Do yourself a favor and get the powervision...you will have more options if you need a dyno tune.

Thank you indeed Sportyman13. Very instructive I haven't purchased yet. Understood the limitations of the FP3 vs the PV. It's not a priority, yet For the time being the XL 1200N fares rather well despite being (on the paper) at 70% of it's factory power. Which says something about the flexibility of these old designs
