Crocus cloth is an abrasive sheet similar to sand paper or emery cloth but covered with a layer of very fine loose iron oxide particles rather than with bound grains of abrasive. It is intended for final metal and gemstone finishing and is available in various grades (particle sizes).

Thanks Gene, I was having trouble finding info on that. It sounds like that or some emery cloth might be a good thing to try. I'm thinking it might be best to put it between the cup on the headlight bucket and the eyebrow to give it more bite.

I have no issues here! it is what it is. there are diffs but there are similarities and often used interchangeably and yes it does come in rolls and other forms as well.

I would just stuff a star washer between the cup and headlight and tighten it down. The little teeth it has around the edge should hold it no problem. Plus it's washers are usually soft enough that when you tighten them down they will bend and take the shape of the cup.

I believe I remember my nut had little divetes around the flat side in crown to make it tapered when I tightned it down, the first time I though I was cross threading and pulled it apart, all checked out so I put back together. May have wrong nut or need new hardware....

Hey Kawa1100 I dont think the original nut on mine was anything special all the parts diagrams I've looked at just list it as a 1/2-13 nut and the Colony Hardware replacement kit comes with just a standard nut, lock-washer and beveled washer. It might be that newer EVO's use a different nut than the 4 speeds.

Thanks MikeLI_77, that was my next idea was to use a star washer, I just need to find one big enough. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks between the cup and mount is the place to fix.

Just giving an update for anyone who had this problem.

For now I have a big rubber washer between the headlight bucket and the eyebrow and it is holdign well so far. I also found a large star washer that I will keep on hand in case the rubber washer ends up failing. It seems like the rubber is giving it just enough bite to hold the light in place though.

Add some Goop to the rubber washer. Similar to silicone sealer except a bit easier to peel off when you want to.
