Good. It is a much better design. Nice job on the tank labels!

My HD came with various spares, including an original oil tank with a (8-10mm!) hole where the support bracket broke off the tank.
When I saw that, I resolved that I didn't want to be riding when that happens! The upgrade gets rid of that problem.

There are some ways to improve the original battery tray support but it still might be worth considering a Lithium battery to reduce
the weigh acting on the tank.

My hoses displayed symptoms of being slightly pinched.

I noticed that the venting line of the cam case is sucking air. The result is a vaccum in the oil tank. Is there a venting hole in these oil tanks ? I don´t have breathers behind the air filter case. I really don´t understand what´s the difference between old and new tank apart from the location of the connectors

That is pretty much it. Improved hose routing and the improved battery tray support, so the tank doesn't fracture and dump oil over the rear tyre!!

We have already covered the connections on the new tanks v the original. If they have been fitted correctly the venting will be the same as before.
Have you got the oil pump output/input the correct way round?

To recap, there are three breathers but only one goes to the oil tank: The cam case vent which is behind the cam chest in front of the starter motor - goes to the red cap:
The main engine breather which exits the cam case by the oil filter - does NOT go to the oil tank. It is normally routed to the air filter but can be sent under the bike or onto the drive chain.
Finally the trans vent - which is placed somewhere high under the seat.


If that doesn't help then post pictures.
