But China benefits from all this extra industry.
HD benefits from higher profit margins.
Shareholders in HD get bigger returns.
Buyers get slightly cheaper bikes.
Former HD workers now qualify for food stamps.
EVERYONE wins !

Wait just a minute, you got rimmed at the stealer?

Looks like my local stealer will have to up their level of service!

They don't call me Ironhead Rick just because I'm hard headed

I own an AMF bike and it's a great bike. But I haven't bought new Hardley from a dealer in 50 years now. And I never will. hd is a business and they know ego their customers are. Not people like me (most on this forum ?) Despite the numbers of HF's I have oenwd and still own thy don't make a product i like.
But then, these fays no one else does either.
The biggest stealer in Brisbane has NO mechanics who have ever worked on an Ironhead.

We've got one local indy shop that works on Ironheads here, in the Bismarck/Mandan N.D. area. His Shop is full most of the time. The closest shop to here, that still works on Ironheads, is, believe it or not, Stutsman Harley Davidson in Jamestown N.D. They only work on them by appointment only?! You can still find some of the old mechanics around here that will work on one as a project.

When I was young I couldn't afford to pay a mechanic to work on my bike. But I heaven't trusted anyone else to work on them for many years now. Therre's only a very few guys in this country who know anything at all about Ironheads, And this is a BIG country.

if I was in the business I would only selectively work on ironheads. many are so worn out and repaired poorly by po's. I have seen many cragslist ads where they post a receipt of 3k or so of work and give up. usual items are drag pipes, clean carb, wiring and maybe some pistons. but no bearings or gears or anything with real meat. frankly if someone doesn't have any mechanical skills they shouldn't buy a 50 year old motorcycle. these days it is R&R. like the pilots these days that cant fly worth a damn if the autopilot screws up. btw I don't understand the point of this thread/poll. everyone knows its a 65 XLCH or are we just being trolled.
