Using this method, this was as far on as I could get the sprocket. Is this enough?

No, you should be able to push/drift the sprocket on far enough for the nut to have full thread engagement.

No you are not on far enough. You are not past the seal in the retainer. I would remove retainer/seal and try fitting sprocket on shaft first to determine what you are fighting against. I have filed some a bit to get a fit.

It is desirable to leave 4 retaining plate screws slightly loose, slip sprocket on and spin to center seal. Remove sprocket and final tighten retaining plate screws.
I have an old sprocket with relief holes cut into it to allow access to retaining plate screws. Enables seal centering and final tightening in one process.

Drive sprocket woes
Well, after utilizing everyone’s recommendations this is where I am sitting with it. Is this acceptable?
