Default progress :)

Hi again, I'm here to report progress

Thanks very much your help so far, I've been following the advice closely.

I wasn't able to undo the main blue wires from the breaker box, but I narrowed the problem to the front. (I forget how.)

I tried to get as far as I could without cutting wires.

I narrowed ti to the plug in the headlight that connects to the left hand control.

I cut the cable going to the hand control, and that wasn't it so I cut the wires going to the left front blinker ...., BINGO !

So I just wire twisted the hand control back together and everytrhing works and no circuit breaking. Except the front left blinker is disconnected and the rear left doesn't "blink", but I figure it needs the front bulb working to operate.

Anways that's my story thanks again,

I ordered a basic set up similiar blinkers from JC Whitney that are fork tube mounted.

to replace the left one (and I'll just do them both)

Make sure the handlebar ground wire is good. I had my signals mounted on my forks and when the ground broke the running lights in front would burn out quickly. May be a static build-up thing. (2002 XLH883)
