You have to have the return spring on the slide no matter which throttle you use.
I would not recommend trying to use a solid wire cable with a slide carb.

Thanks rick. I’ve been pondering it for a long time now, about how to possibly “lock nut” above and below the slide with the solid inner cable to eliminate the slide spring and have the dead man throttle with a mikuni vm - without becoming a dead man myself!
