Most EI have instructions that can be found on the interwebz.

If you are having trouble IDing your ignition post a picture of it.
Someone here has seen them all.

Don't guess about the wiring get instructions or you will likely ruin what you have.
Some of the ignitions made are not worth using.

Thanks rick here is the pic of my setup.
Update, i am stic timing my bike and connected a test light +ve end to blue wire on the coil and -ve end to ground ,when i turn on the start switch the light bulb stays on, no matter how much i retard or advance the ign plate.Have you guys seen this before. Any help ?

I'm not 100% sure what ignition you bought but assuming it's an ultima your coil hookup looks wrong. You've got one single- dual tower coil so according to the instructions the blue wire is not used and the pink and white don't belong on the same terminal.

See the dual-fire/single coil diagram in the instructions.

Also instructions call for 2.5-3.5 ohm coil. Yours is 5 ohms. I'm not sure what problems if any this causes. Hope others will comment.

Thanks needspeed mine is dyna s ds6-1 ign module and dual fire dc7-1 coil.

Thanks to all the people who helped. It did enable a rookie like me to fix my bike. Reinstalled new coil and ign module. Static timed it,polarized the genny and the bike finally started ,no backfire or anything runs great.
