all the module does is get timing info from the timing cup and processes it to give the spark. there should be no need to check timing, it is fixed mechanically at the sensor, that said, they do make more than one timing cup with diff window cuts, aka, silver vs gold.

To the origional poster. Did you ever get yours figured out? Mine does the same thing. Spit and sputters for about 5 minutes then runs fine. Thought it was originally a fuel problem. Ran through everything nee coil bank angle sensor. Pretty much changed everything I could get except the unicorn ignition module
