Default Sport Bob Tank and speedo cable issue

Ok, so on my 88’ I have a sport Bob tank on it that wasn’t intended to have a speedometer cable that bends 90 degrees into the gauge. Harley did make an adaptor for this, but I don’t have a part number or a name for the part that helps with this issue so that the cable doesn’t kink and or break. This is what happened to the new Barnett cable I bought. If anyone knows the parts name that I seek to help smooth out the hard turn it takes to install the cable would be great! Thanks in advance! Oh and I did get her out last Sunday on her new shoes and rear all ball racing bearings! Very therapeutic!

I did a quick web search - it doesn't appear that such a 90° adapter is typical for HD.
https://www.google.com/search?q=harl...speedo+adapter

The FXR arrrangement used a special speedometer with an angled cable entry. Hard to find and costs about $400. The speedo part number is 67168-88 or 67168-88A. Here's a link to a german website (google translated) that has some pictures of that unit.

I did see in my web search that there might be some snowmobile speedo cable angle adapters and I saw that Autometer has an adapter. But I didn't readily see specs on those parts.

You would have to check on connection threading & cable size/style to see if you could use those as is or would need to make your own modifications.

Good Luck.
