well this is how far ive got with the 48 conversion so far, I need to sort out a spoke rear wheel next.

that is looking really good. I have a 15 48 and so I know the look real good and I saw that picture and went WOW.

ON the later models like mine they have a fork brace, it really improves the handling, one of the things I love about the 48 is how it handles. Best run around sportster I have ever owned. As you mentioned tank limits range but I figure the looks and handling of the bike makes me ok with that, it is such a sweet ride.

thanks mate I wish I could afford the 48 in the first place but cash is tight right now since I put the 16" front wheel on it seems to handle better than it did with the 19" im gona get a left side bag for it the one that will hold a 1.5L fuel can just as a back up when I go for a run.

bit of an update, back wheel built and fitted, wish I got a black tank though !!! its a bit different from the 883R it started life as.
