My first street legal motorcycle was a Honda Super 90. It was 4 stroke and would do the speed limit or better riding solo.

Back in the good old days we did not need a license to ride any motorbike 5 HP or less on the highways. Just had to stay off the Interstates or the lie you told the state trooper about the Honda 90 being 4.9 HP would conflict with the law that said no motorbikes under 5 HP allowed on the Interstate Highways. The Honda Super 90 was rated 9 HP, but back then, there was no Internet and the LEOs had no clue what HP any of the smaller bikes were. It was in the service manual, but was not anywhere on the bike ID plates. Only the CC size was stamped on the plates.

Mine was black and looked exactly like the picture, but this is not a picture of mine. I do have a picture of it, but that picture is old, faded, and B+W.

Had a blast on that little bike, but not as much of a blast as I had with the 305 Superhawk I got when I turned 14 years old and got a restricted license. You could ride any size bike with a restricted license in the good old days. Wasn't no MC endorsement or even a test of any kind. All that helment laws, and MC license endorsements came along about 1965 or 66 in Florida. Not a problem for me. All I had to do was buy a helmet. Got grandfathered in on the license endorsement because I already had motorcycles titled in my name when the law was passed.
