Although not my cup of tea I hope the Streetfighter does well. I'm 62 in October & my Sportster is likely my last ride. HD needs new customers, especially young ones who will stay loyal.I hope this doesn't end like Indian, they made a range of singles & vertical twins to attract the younger riders who were buying Triumphs & BSAs, the traditional Indian customer wanted a Big Twin, young riders didn't want an old man's bike. A similar story happened with Oldsmobile & Mercury cars

i agree. i am 41 so not that old. but i'd rather ride this than a couch on two wheels. i guess that's why my sporty has rearsets and clipons. i'm not an old man yet and don't plan on becoming one till i die.

How about the new Custom? Is that a concept bike or something they are going to manufacture? That looks more to my liking. Interested to see what engine it will have. Of course price will also be a consideration.

I once looked for bikes that only had mid-controls: Didn't like forwards at all. Father time had the last laugh & now I need forwards!

father time will have to stop me from back country hiking and caving before he'll get my attention. i aint' super man by no stretch but it amazes me the things people already can't do at my age or younger.

and yeah the new custom is something they are supposed to produce. i like it but i'd have to change it out to mids (at least) or rearsets and clipons for me.

I also do not like forwards at all...
Maybe it's my european school...
Maybe it's my dirt bike teenager imprinting...
Maybe it's my past love for superbike or supermotard...
Maybe it's just me...
But i just do not like them...

the new Custom 1275 for sure will be a great bike... but for her forwards...

I don't like them either. Forward controls rotate my hips and put more weight on my tailbone which exasperates an old back injury. I also feel like I have much better low speed control with mids.

I just replaced the forward controls on my 1200C with mids.

I do occasionally like to stretch the legs out for a short while, so I put highway pegs on as well.

There are 6 different placement of pegs for the Sportster, I would bet there will be at least 2 or 3 different sets of pegs for the new custom.
