I know this flies in the face of everyone's rightfully placed thoughts on drag pipes but I had them on my '73 xlh and they did pretty well considering. They had a 4" length of the dogballs baffle also used in the khromewerks slipons I'm running now in my 05 1250. They do bring back good low end torque without restriction.
My 05 had drag pipes when I bought it that did pretty well with them too but those pipes also used the hidden crossover.
There's another exhaust using them now too and both have the same patent number on the baffles. Someone posted a thread about that exhaust and they're touted as anti reversion exhaust.
Just a thought fwiw if you really insist on keeping the drag pipes.
Khromewerks sells the baffles for just sbout any size pipe.

Actually I've got the baffles I pulled out of the drag pipes that were on my 05 when I cut the pipes down to stock head pipe length. They're 8" long but can be cut down to any length if you want to experiment with them.

Lol I wish I. Ever would have mentioned my jockey shift hitting. It really really doesn't bother me to shift like that or even down shit just that it was funny.

I'm just going to leave it like or is super E Shorty & all. I just deal with the pipes because I look them & the sound plus all of this is payed for. The long "dog leg" (lol I like that one) intake is silly & a waste of money. I'm just going to kick it & slowly roll in it. Thank everyone. I appreciate it.

The "long" (28") ram manifolds were not used on any Max Wedge engines, only 1960-62 B & RB with std. heads.
The MW (15") manifolds were tuned for 5,500.

I bought one of those aftermarket super bowls with the accelerator pump here's a picture I still haven't put it on.no need to really the carb runs great.i thought I might put it on to use the accelerator pump before starting so I don't need as many prime kicks,but that's not really a problem either.i do have a Zippers thunder jet and Yost power tube.the thunder jet no doubt helps the mid range.

I can understand what you're saying. just I had & s&s super B on a shovel 98 cubic inch I liked it, after experimenting with air bleed sizes & jetting, but it would never beat a well turned SU in there day & off the line SU ruled, then the Super D with air cleaner came out & that still rules on a big inch motor. my friend had a 98 cubic inch shovel with an SU carb I could never beat him off the line with the S&S B, then they made the D with air cleaner I got one & it was good bye everywhere , my friend was shocked I left him off the line and up big hills & at high speed. he went & got one too.
now I like the CV ( still on a carb Harley ). the rider makes a lot of difference too.

RDHenley, you're right. Whatever they were bolted onto ended up with a pretty narrow power range.
Someone was eager to point out that long rams didn't come on max wedges but I never said they were 'from the factory'. When we kids were young and racing and playing mix 'n match, long rams, short rams, high rise exhaust headers along with other max wedge stuff were still wrecking yard items. Unique Mopars too. How about a 1969 Dodge Polara station wagon complete with 440 police package that was a CHP lieutenant's car... I bet that would bring a dollar or two these days.

I ventured away from S&S one time. Got a hair up my *ss to try a dual throat Del Orto sidedraft carb. Worst mistake I could of made. After several years I picked up a used S&S G carb and swapped it out. Night and day difference. Back in the late 70's my first S&S Super B was used also. Thought I was in high cotton when I got it. Now adays it's B's and G's for me baby.
