Default I have been busy... 1975 sporty, stretched w/evo

So I found a killer deal on an Evo Sporty 883 with a Crane Cams hi-4 ignition for dirt cheap

I already had the Ironhead out due to a crank pin failure a while back (on a side note the Ironhead is almost back together)

While I had the engine out I stretched the seat ‘subframe’ 3” as well as the swing arm

Over the weekend I tried to install the evo in my Ironhead frame. It wouldn’t fit between to lower frame rails... it was hitting on the inside of the left lower frame rail....

Cut it, reinforced it... braced it and it dropped in... but didn’t clear the front of the rear cyclinder.

Looked again, the kickstand and the foot peg mounts are in the way, cut that off move it forward... not sure what I’ll do about the foot pegs or foot controls

Took the cover off and it cleared the backbone...

but now it didint clear the rear motor mount... made some blocks. Now it clears

Then the front mounts where too far forward, just a little grinding... they fit...

This weekend I will pull it and clearance and reinforce the backbone

It should be running in a couple weeks...

Over the winter I plan to convert to a 1200

Looks nice, there was a few evos in pre 79 frames shown here. Always liked the pre 79 frame bikes & can remember the outrage 40 years ago that the 79s "weren't a real Sportster"!
