You could remove the timing plug and lay the bike over on it's side over a drain pan.

There is a vertical oil galley that intersects with a horizontal hole low in the sump. From there the oil goes to the return section of the oil pump.

After the hole is drilled, Harley plugs the end with either a freeze plug or a threaded pipe plug.

It's not intended to be a drain plug, but if your case has the pipe plug it can be used as such. (if needed). I've used it many times on a '77 engine with no issues. It drains almost all the oil, doesn't leak and isn't prone to stripping.

First time removal may be tough. Count on it being tight. You'll need a 3/16 hex key.

See the arrow labeled crankcase drain at post #29 this thread.

See the oil galley and plug reference in the drawings here.

hardee har har
early sportsters a true motorcycle
the ONLY reason they were king was because of displacement
probably was the slowest thing on the street in its class and easily smoked by 1/2 its size.
it was largely sold as a prestige thing. like honda "you meet the nicest people riding a honda".
then came the hell's angles thingy.
my 500 goldstar would leave one behind and it was mine!
