It’s a Barnett scorpion. And what I did think I did wrong last time I installed it is I should have had the innards all rotated one slot on the basket. I noticed some of the springs rubbing on the sidewall. It didn’t do that last time I had it together. But I was too lazy to remove the innards and do it over again. Exactly what hat is not clear to me now and won’t be till I get back inside it. I do know that the clutch lever is a much harder pull now than it was the first time I installed the clutch.

Thanks Davi. That means a lot to me coming from you as I have a lot of respect for what you have done with your bikes too.
I really didn’t know what I was getting into with this build. But just kept moving forward one step at a time.
And thanks everyone else for the wishes of more mikes and smiles - yeh I’m sure they are coming.

I should really try to sort out the clutch this weekend. Not sure I can spare the time though. In my push to finish this bike I’ve neglected many of my usual duties and they’ve been piling up. I can’t ignore them much longer.

nice to finally take this bike for a spin when its not raining:
unfortunately I couldn't get the clutch to stop slipping. Its not the adjustment as I backed it off until I have at least an inch free play at the lever. I probably shouldn't have this much free play but I kept backing off the adjuster just to be sure that's not what making the clutch slip. I'll have to contact Barnet about this.
I did though get the clutch lever working better. Other than bleeding it each time I took it apart to work on it the only thing I actually changed on the hydro clutch was to use thicker banjo washers because the banjo bolt I used was long enough to possible touch the piston. The thicker washers gave it a bit of clearance.

And here is what I couldn't remember about how I may have installed the clutch incorrectly last time I has in there. It was simply that the corners of clutch nut lined up exactly with the springs so they rubbed a bit:
I tightened the nut a little more so that is not an issue any more. I also added stronger springs. The kit came with 3 weights of springs, 70 lb, 80 lb and 90. also 100 lb springs available to order but not included. originally (as in the above photo I had used three 70 and three 80 lb springs. now I went with six 80 lb. Now possibly, if I really put this engine to the test, I could learn that even six 80 lb springs is not enough. But I haven't been working the engine at all. I'm doing gentle break in and its still slipping. Going up a mountain I can't even maintain steady 70 mph in 4rth gear without it slipping. riding on the flat if I give the throttle a little blip, The revs just go up 1,000 rpm without the rear wheel going any faster
