When I first started I judged it by the Tach. Now I just do it by sound. One with the beast.

Couldn't tell you what speed to shift up into 5th would be since I have a 4 speed.

On my 883 I shift into 5th anywhere from 80km/h up. I often hold 3rd to about 90km/h, the bike seems to prefer changing up then to leaving it later. Otherwise, whatever suits at the time.

Sportsters all had right foot shifts until 1974. So, God changed his mind? Maybe it was after he started rocking bell bottoms?

That may have been the same year that he (or she) decided that the other side should win battles. Must be a tough job deciding who lives, dies, or wears bell bottoms. Good thing I'm not in charge.
