Welcome to the XLForum...

These modules DO have a bad habit of failing - And HD quit making replacements ASAP...

When they fail, they sometimes fail in crazy ways - And I would not be surprised if it's the module that is bad - Did you connect a meter to the trigger side of the coil (PINK wire) while cranking the engine? The 12v there (which comes thru the coil from the other side) should be grounding with each engine revolution as the Ignition Module fires the coil by first grounding it...

The Ultima Ignition has been the go to replacement around here:

Make sure the ground wire from the battery is tight and clean at both ends, has the bike been on its side recently? they have a tip switch that can get stuck, I believe it is mounted to the battery tray (toward the rear tire), a good rap to the switch usually will reset it.

Thanks for all the responses gentleman I'm going to ck out all that was mentioned this afternoon when it warms up ( Damm cold here in Palmbay Fl. last couple days in the 30's ! not used to that chill )
And no the bike never kissed the ground lol

leaning towards buying 3 new parts in order of first less expensive one at a time
1 st ign switch
2 nd coil (already replaced but maybe i got a bad one)
3 rd ign modual (under nose cone)

Thanks for all the reply's I will post results as i replace the parts in order as I mentioned
