Default How I got shot off my horse ....

For those that don't know - This is an Ironhead Sportster !

We have a “rider’s briefing” which all riders must attend before the start of every race meeting. The briefing always begins with these words:
“Motorcycle racing can be dangerous. You can be injured or even killed. Your machine can be damaged or destroyed”

This photo was taken seconds after Tony Jacobs had run into me, knocking my right foot of the pegs and my right hand off the ‘bars.
I fell to the right but my left foot was trapped in the passengers grab rail and the bike dragged me across the infield.
I was sure this was going to break my leg – but it didn’t. Pure luck I think.

Pretty lucky all in all that we both walked away unhurt and the bike merely had a few scratches.
What you can't see in this picture is me trying to stop the outfit from flipping over on us by me pushing my right hand into the track. Totally ruined my glove.

Anyone who hasn't tried this just has no idea of what life is all about.
(Hint: it has nothing to do with sitting on the couch watching Homer Simpson)

I can imagine the adrenaline rush! Wonder what was going through swinger's mind realising they were on a bike without anyone at the controls? Glad no damage done except for change of underwear.

Yup,
Funny thing is Vicki hadn't noticed I had been knocked off !
She was hanging on for dear life, riding it out, wondering why I wasn't applying the brakes when the creek and the boulder were coming up.
I was screaming at the top of my lungs (Hurt like hell) but we both had helmets on (Safety devices ya know)
First outing for my new fairing. Cost me 20 odd points in the Period 3 Challenge.
Worst part is TJ who knocked me off, went on to pick up 2nd place.

I also have some video I got with my Gopro Hero of my mate Brian, flipping his sidecar a couple weeks back. He was right in front of me at the time. But I need to work out editing software (Bought Pinnacle Studio - looks like rubbish to me) nefore I upload it.
They leave us sitting on the dummy grid too long.

And <Mick. it's very hard to actually find gloves that work for racing. They need to actually fit, provide protection and not be so thick I can't feel anything. I paid $100 for replacements and the fingers are all about 1/2 inch too long. Best I could do though.
