Yeah. On mine. The debate in my head on 2 of em is whether go with bike shocks or air bags.

I am pretty big for springs.

Unless, I guess, you got it sitting on 4 springs and it bobs around like a toy in the park.

If your bike is set up as a rigid, and just not struts or or just bolting on a hardtail, it is except on extreme roads, pretty damn comfortable. Its why I've riden mine for 47 years. And I'll turn 70 this summer, and still racking up the miles.

the shape, and whats in the seat is what matters, as with a seat on any bike.

I haven't tried gel- but I bet it would be a treat, same as on ANY seat (from what I'm told).

I have a cobra seat on now and i end up sitting on the transition between my seat and the skinny passenger seat. If i didnt slide back i would be fine. Which is why i am getting the lepera signature seat. It will hold me in my spot and has a little back support to keep me locked in.

I have a welded hardtail and i agree. Its not much worse than a sporty or dyna with really short shocks.

I was really just wondering if the gel would add comfort on a hardtail or not...since the gel makes the seat a little firmer.

Thanks for the response!!

If you research how custom chopper seats were made back in the '60's and '70's, from what I remember, the good ones used several layers and densities of foam to achieve a "livable" seat for long hauls. BUT, that was before gel. AFAIK, gel just distributes pressure equally across your butt and really doesn't absorb any road feel, maybe just dulls the feel slightly.
