I am anxious to see what degree people are going with - my '73 XLCH leans more than I'd like it to. When I try starting it (kicking with my left leg, standing on the right side) the front wheel starts to slide to the right - making me quite nervous.

There are some pretty creative ways to lengthen your existing kickstand found on site. One of the most memorable was screwing a hockey puck on the bottom of it.

Hockey pucks are hard to find where I live so when I recently made a sidestand pad for a friend I used some "Seaboard" from Tap Plastics, they cut a small 3" x 3" piece so it was inexpensive and they carry various thicknesses. It can be cut, shaped, drilled etc. with woodworking tools and is holding up well on her bike. NOT an ironhead but here is a picture...

Don't forget the side stand bushings, lot of time just changing them give you the right lean angle.

Be very careful with pre67 side stands. The tab is not welded to the footpeg and very easy to break right off with too much lean.

There are no bushings on ironhead sidestands. Just the stand, a pin, and a tab.

1952-mid67, tab is independent.

Mid67 to 82, tab is welded solid to left peg mount.

If a 67 up is leaning more than 10 degrees, something is seriously wrong.

Nah. The '66 motor broke. I sold it. Now I have an '86 yellow Corvette convertible. And the green '06 Mustang coupe.

Make you a good deal on the Vette. Needs slight electrical work. (Mice ate it).
