There was a good article about it and I will see if I can find it later.
We see it here at work. The company issues impact gloves and people start putting their hands in stupid places thinking that the gloves will save them. All it does is keep the end of a finger from being lost. Helmets and gear can’t protect against stupid.
I remember when airbags became standard issue on cars and a lot of people stopped wearing seat belts. Gotta love it. Now that we have cars that can drive themselves, let's see how the rates of injuries and fatalities change. I just noticed on the news that many cars from different manufacturers that have the "auto stop" stensors are having problems with stopping all of a sudden with no warning at all. In one case, a shadow from a bridge overhead confused the sensor. Supposedly, they will help prevent a front-end collision. How about a rear-end collision. And do these things even see motorcycles?

Yeah, we can't Stupid-Proof people. I was trained back in the 60's to look way ahead while I was driving and anticipate any problems. Kinda hard to do when you're looking at your "smart" phone and texting. Will the excuse, "But judge, it was the cellphone's fault"... or, "the car's sensor's fault". Hmmm....

Picked up a Shoei Neotec 2 a few weeks ago. Hove only done a few short rides with it but I am liking it.

Never thought I'd spend that much money on a helmet but with as many miles as I ride its worth it to me

A thougthful choice I must say. I'm more the Pickelhaube type myself. The Otto Eduard Leopold von Bismarck-Schönhausen model that is. The 1890's 'Reichskanzler' real deal.
(no ANSI rating I'm afraid).

This Poll should be multi-choice.... I've got all of the above and I use either one depending on the day/ride.
