Simple guide to posting pics hosted on Photobucket
There are plenty of good threads on how to post pics, but I thought I'd make a quick and dirty one on photobucket photos.
You can create a free account on photobucket to host your pics. (if you go over your limit, or want more features, they will sell you more space, but if not, it's free)
http://photobucket.com/
Once you upload the pictures, they give you the code that you need to copy and paste into any forum that uses BBCode (like this one) and you can show your pics.
When a picture is hosted on photobucket, it goes into albums. By default, you have one, but you can make more. When you look in your album, you will see small thumbnail pics.
If you hold your mouse over the picture, you'll see a larger version of the picture with 4 boxes under the pic. They have code to link to your pic. Depending on where you want to show the pics on, you will need to select the appropriate code. For this forum, select the bottom code. They list it as IMG code.
When you click on the code, it should return a message saying that it is copied. This means it is on your clipboard. You'll paste it into your post later.
If that doesn't work for you, you can always highlight the code and copy by right clicking and selecting 'copy'.
Return to the forum and in the area where you are entering your post, you will paste the code you just put on your clipboard. Don't use the IMG tags or the buttons, just paste it into your post.
It's that easy... There is a test area to try this and lots of forum members that are willing to help.

And if you have your pic hosted here, in your XLF gallery, the same process applies. Just click on your pic and find the UBBCode under the pic. No buttons, or extra tags. Just copy the UBBCode and paste it into your post.

I find it easiest to open Photobucket in a separate window from XLF. Makes it easier to select and copy the Photobucket address then paste to an XLF post.

Thanks so much for the info! I've tried all kinds of different ways to post pictures in the forum with no success - until now...

Excellent idea / write-up Brad! Nice to be able to send new XLF members to a thread instead of trying to explain the process over and over again.

One suggestion though....and might want to add it to your first post. Maybe it is just me but sometimes when I click the code it doesn't say "copied" and I have to "right click" the mouse...and then select copy from there to actually copy it over. Again, might just be me having this issue.
