Default Taking speedo cable off front fender...

re: '74 Sportster.How do I disconnect the speedo drive cable from the speedo drive unit? ...there a tiny screw in there or smething?

Yes, there's a tiny screw in there. Just turn it out, it'll fall in your hand, don't lose it. Once the screw is out, there's a sort of square shaped end of the speedo line that fits in there snugly, just give it a little tug after the screw is out.

On mine i have to disconnect it at the speedometer unit first, then unscrew it from the drive unit at the wheel. The cable end is solid so i have to unscrew it using the whole cable not just the metal end.

I have seen other posts here recently that refer to a small screw but i have not had one on either of my two speedo drives.
