OK you've talked me out of a springer front end, that's good

I am thinking the opposite now...USD forks. I want to be able to ride the bike for miles and miles while being sort of able to turn (not racer speed).

What is involved in a USD conversion?

I've been looking at these shocks:

http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/du...part/OHL-HD142

And think the front should be somewhat capable.

I "AM" interested in looks as most of the time I'm putzing around in the city, but I do want to be able to take off and hit the road, for trips from Toronto to Vermont, for example, maybe 1-2x/year.

My dealer still has the bike, there was a screw-up with the rim, so I'm getting very anxious as the weather warms up here.

If a photoshop makes sense, this is the bike I'm building in my head, the forks are a questionmark:

It's based on Silverds's bike:

The only non-sequiter right now is the suspension. The rest I will do when I get the bike, I've already made the mods or will in the case of the paint.

Just an update. Chickened out on all the other brands, including Bitubo etc. and decided to talk with Dan Kyle (Ohlins expert, I remembered him for being a Ducati suspension guru).

He recommended Ohlins HD145E's and he is setting them up and springing them for my weight, should have them in a couple of weeks. I wish the front end would be so simple lol! Why can't you just bolt USD's into the stock triples lol? Not a real question...

Next up is the 4 pot Brembo front kit from Adreline or someone on this continent of possible, then I'll feel like I have a bike that can stop and travel a bit

Shawn
