Default My 75' Ironhead Chopper

I just realized there is a chopper section on this website. i really only post in the ironhead section. This seems like a more appropriate place to show my ride. It is a 75 xlh. It has a 74'' wheelbase. frame is 6'' out, 3'' up, 45 deg rake. wide glide 30.25 inch fork tubes & 3 deg trees. 12'' progressive shocks 350# springs. the back end of the bike was hand made myself. i did all the frame work (including building a frame jig), mechanical & paint. It has a 76 ci stroker motor cams & ported heads. This thing rides & sounds great. All the electric has been upgraded h4 headlight, led tail light, all new wire harness & electrical components. Paint is chrysler flame red base under fire red micro flakes, covered in a candy rose pearl. I wanted a clean, unique ironhead chopper, here she is..

it is quick for a harley. tons of fun. the bike actually rides much better after the frame/ front end chop. on the highway there is zero movement in the bars. bike is stable hitting bumps in the road. when it was stock, hitting a bump in the road (while riding with one hand on handle bar) would result in little head shake, not fun lol.
everywhere i ride her, people approach me to talk about it.

That is such a cool, classic chop. Ya done good! The neck area turned out great. It's obvious you have some mad skills. If ya have any pics of the build process, there's a lot of folks, me included, that would love to see 'em.

If ya undertake any more fabrication projects, post lots and lots of photos. Nuthin'; better that welding, grinding, and wrenching porn! Ride free...

i was busy all summer with other projects. i have been working on a 78' ironhead bobber, a 71' FLH shovelhead chopper, and my 1965 fastback mustang pro-touring race/street car. i lost a bunch of pics, i have been going through memory cards finding stuff.

i just pushed my neighbors 71' shovel & my 75' chopper over to his garage for winter storage. his bike is not done, i will finish his later this winter. i was able to get his shovel in ride-able condition before the snow fall. he had not rode his bike in over 3 years due to having brain surgery. it was a great day when he finally got it started. a 84'' shovel high compression, sifton cams, super E & 4'' open belt primary motor is not to easy to kick start. after a few hours of preparation it roared to life after 3 good kick cycles. she has an awesome sound ! this is the bike that made me originally fall in love with vintage harleys.

Damn, Freak, I wish y'all were a little closer. I'd wander over for some shop time and maybe learn a thing or two about motorsickles. Looks like you've been busy.
