Default first and last milestones

I was wondering about some milestones in and around the Ironhead production years. What years were the first and last one produced for instance. Also what years in between were there any significant changes like motor sizes (when did it go to a 1000cc), or when was the last true right hand shift vs the crossover and then the change to left hand? First year with signals, etc. You get the idea.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it (especially if you don't know what you're doing). Most Sportster problems are owner-induced.
