Default running a Twin tech?whats yours set at

I just installed my TC-88 on my 06 1200r.I understand you have to experiment a bit to find what works best on each application.those of you that have had them a while where did you find your best all around setting?I got some good reults with my stage 1 after reading posts here and asking questions.got a big sucker a/c and cycle shack slip ons.45 pilot 180 main, two shims .40 , and drilled my slide vacume hole slightly bigger,75 HP and 75 torque, that was a good bang for $200 bucks.when i look at my dyno runs the HP and torque were still headed up when the limiter kicked in.from what i understand a stock stage 1 doesnt make much more power beyond that so i got the rev limit at 6300 rpm, dont plan on spending much time up there but it will be nice not to bump the limiter when shifting at 6000 rpm.right now i put it at 2 initial and 3 on the total advance.i did notice the bike started instantly and ran smoother.i couldnt ride it tho i got a kidney stone workin its way out.any advice or personal expeirence?on the TC-88 that is, not the stone.

My 2005 1200 C is on 1 and 4 I was getting a small amount of detonation on 2 when I let the clutch out. I runs awsome on 1 and 4 with no pinging 6300 rev limit. I run 91 octane stage 1 S&S air filter, Vance & Hines pipes, 48 pilot, 85 main , 82 RWHP

Mine is set at 5-7 and 6800 rpm. Instant start. No dyno, but my buddy with a 111" S&S can't catch me 0-100(when running KW HP-Plus exhaust). Just put on LSR 2-1, but haven't had it on the road yet.

3 - 3 and 6,800 with 91 octane and 10.5 to 1 compression

No pinging that I can hear ... Maybe I could try 3 - 4 next?

seajay ... are you using stock compression pistons?

Turbota. Yes,but I had NRHS take .015 off when they did the heads(10.17:1 CR per NRHS fact sheet). Always run 93 octane.

okie dokie ... Well, 91 octane is the highest we get in Arizona unless you buy race gas.

My problem is; My hearing is not that good and I have a bad high freq. hearing loss from years of flying in the military, plus, the pipes are loud ... so, if my bike is pinging just lightly, maybe I'm not hearing it ????

I guess the best thing anyone could do is put the bike on the dyno when trying various settings.

I still may change mine from 3-3 to 3-4 and see how it runs. I can tell you this; The bike pulls harder right to the rev limiter than with the SE module.

I took a small screwdriver with me to a desolate road, trying different settings. Had, what I felt was the best settings, in less then a hour.

I run mine at 1-7. It seemed to ping at 2 or higher but seems to love an agressive advance curve. Haven't got anywhere in Singapore that I can do roll-ons so this may not be ideal, but the bike goes beautifully.

Actually, I am using a custom curve which I programmed which is close to 1-7 but smoothed out a bit.

Cheers,

Brett

Custom map based upon a 2-7 setting...smoothed out the curve in Excel using some simple math. I can't hear any pinging and it feels very responsive. I notice that when you upload a custom map into the module and then downlaod it, there are diferent values in the table...very minor, but still differences. Still riding around with a laptop and have the cable attached incase I want to screw around with it more.

If you have loaded a custom curve don't forget to set the initial advance switch to 5, otherwise it will adjust your custom profile up or down depending on where you have it set.

Cheers,

Brett
