Default Nuts

What is the longest it has taken you to find fasteners that you dropped while working on your bike.

I have spent countless hours LOOKING for fasteners. I claim little to no success in FINDING fasteners. When we die and go to Sporty heaven we will be reunited with missing nuts and washers (and missing socks).

I've used needle nose pliers, screwdrivers with gum on the end of them, magnets (which of course don't work on stainless steel) inspection mirrors to try to locate them - you get the point. Best method i've found - if you can, start the bike and wait for it to rattle out on the ground. Semper Fi

Had a recent experience with a rear tank bushing; stainless steel (does this count?). I had to phish it out from the from below the battery after chasing it over/under the starter and any and all points inbetween.

Yeah, right, that magnetic pickup took did me a lot of good!
