Default ECM relocation W/PICS!

Okay everyone, you all asked for pics of how the ECM looked all strapped up (looped behind the battery and around the ECM) Here they are! Hope you find this more helpful.

Looks like a good solution to the "hide the ECM" game.

With the ecm strapped to the battery, does the cover sit as far back as it did before the ecm was there? Or does it stick out noticeably? Its hard to tell in that picture but looks like the cover may be held out a 1/2in or so.

If you are looking straight down on it from the top. It pretty much is back to where it was in its 'stock' position. I could have probably pulled it in another 1/4 inch or so.

So its hardly noticeable then huh? It looks as if it even clipped into the stock holders or is that not true? Did you have to lengthen the wires or just finesse them around? Sorry for all the questions, that is where I plan to put mine and am just trying to find out some small things.

The 'factory clip'(where the zip ties are now) popped off my bike about two weeks after I bought the bike new ( in Sept.) I was riding, looked down and my battery cover was hanging open. I closed it, and zip tied it when I got home. So it basically has not had its front clip since I bought it...When I took the bike in for its 1000 mile service, I asked the Service Mgr about the clip. (Ive read this is a very common occurance) I asked if there was anything that could be done about it. The stealership answer was, "Yeah...you could buy a new one." Being that the bike was in for its 1000 mile service. (from the very place I bought it from) You would have thought they would have stuck a new one on. I was so ticked off, I refuse to buy a new clip now... and the black zip ties works out. (I know my battery cover wont pop open while riding again.) To this day, I buy on my parts online or through a local indy dealer. No more money to HD. Nothing was lengthend... you just have to work with that main cable (connected to the ECM) Its threaded around wire bundles etc. If you are patient and work with it. You can get enough length to work with it.

Awesome, sounds good! And Man thats lame about that dealer ship. Hell last time my bike was at the dealer for some warranty work they even topped off my gas tank! Guess im one of the few with a good dealer.

very nice mod, but i have to admit i dislike my dealers around my area (nw indiana). i have no luck and no good answers, the people in parts are good to me but service sucks (service manager). it took me years to step back into an hd dealer after being looked down on from the sales guy, 5 bikes later i finally stumbled into a dealer 4 hrs away and i bought my nightster that day.
