After I made my fender bibs, made up a matching mud flap w/same basketweave pattern. Lovebugs are out.

Here are the photos taken tonight..........updated to 2015.

The inner view shows the piece of aluminum bar stock bent to the shape of the inside of the rear fender, clamped and drilled, and attached using small stove bolts.

Excellent info. I've been meaning to do just such a project and its good to know about the need for that brace. I would like to keep the bike cleaner in wet weather by extending the fender to match my hard bags. It looks a little gap-toothed at this point, don't ya think?

Looks like an easy fix............and am in agreement, would definitely be an improvement in appearance to match the lower extreme of the bags.
