The owners manual has pretty good directions. That's what I used the first couple times I did mine on the same bike. If you don't have an owners manula, let me know and I will scan and post a copy of mine. you can email me at robert.stowe@us.army.mil.

true... i'll look in there as well, i totally fogot that it has it all in there! Did you need to have a seperate lube? You cant just use the oil as lube if i remember correctly... if so, which one did you use?

Real easy.
ride bike to operating temp
pull drain plug (attached to a hose by rear of primary.
pull filler cap.
wait till oil stops dripping.
Replace the plug
pull primary plug
drain oil
replace plug
move pan to filter area.
you can put some aluminum foil to help catch the oil that pukes or just let it puke.
remove filter
get new filter and fill up 1/2 way with new oil
user finger to put some on rubber part which attaches to the engine.
screw filter on a touch past hand tight
spray brake parts cleaner where oil leaked on frame.
Remove the 2 allens which hold the primary chain inspection cover on
add 1 quart of your favorite oil. (this fills primary)
put cover back on
go to oil bag side.
add 3 quarts of oil.
replace dipstick.
put tools and wrenches away
ride.

instead of tinfoil, if you have cardboard, take a long section and bend it into a "U" shape down the length and cover that with tinfoil or plastic (so the oil doesnt soak through, you can use it over and over)then jam it in there under the filter before you take it off.

oh, on the newer ones, the oil drain is a hose that hangs down with a little plastic plug in the hose held in place by a hose clamp. it doesnt attach to that bracket on yours.
