I checked the website and answered my own question.....yes, they have a crossover "power chamber", something my Short Shots don't! On my bike I replaced SE II mufflers that used the OEM crossover tube with the Short Shots and didn't notice any extreme change in power. I often wonder though what I'm missing without a crossover?

They have a good rumble but arent too loud in my opinion. I keep the stock baffles in. It has a decent bark at full throttle but otherwise is a very mellow rumble.

I'm a big fan of 2:2 pipes and have been doing extensive tuning of 3 different sets in the last year on my bike. Although all of them are a little different, some characteristics are always common.

If you have a decent baffle in them you always loose top end, but most of the time you improve the mid range.

The main benefit of a balance tube is you can have a little more baffle to improve the mid range without hurting the top end as much, so you end up with a little more average hp. Not necessarily more peak power though, because if you run a good open baffle like a Thunder Monster you'll already have pretty good peak power.

Glad I read this, I'm looking to do the opposite, solid mount pipe on a rubber...

Excellent job and they look great!

Both bikes deserve a bump!
