Default What would it take to do this? (fibreglass tail)

I have my bike pretty much how I want it except for the rear/tail, did this in paint and was wondering what you guys think and how hard would it be do do this? I've never worked with fiberglass...

The before pic is what my bike looks like now besides the chainsickle rear set I have since put on.

I thought I saw a few other bikes on here with a tail similar to what you are trying to do.
There may be a simple bolt-on kit.
Have you searched the Cafe bike threads?

In order to make a part out of fiberglass you would need to get a mold or make a mold.

you should look at joedirt's bike... very similar to what you'd like to do. he also has a build thread, tho he didnt make his out of fiberglass, his is built out of steel.

There are probably a lot of produced tail sections that you could make work, but if you're like me and like the idea of a home made pice, it is really easy to make your own. What I have done is just carve the piece I want out of cheap floral foam, then cover it in masking tape, then lay fiberglass over it. Pop out the foam, sand it smooth, bondo any imperfections, then you have a nice custom piece that is relatively cheap and easy to make. Just takes a little time.
