Default 1986 evo sporty. Is my cam timing set correctly manual is not accurate!

Ok so i was suprised to find out that removing the right side engine cover pulled my timing gears and cams out and cam out of time so i was forced to look at the pdf manual to see how to time everything again. Unfortunately for me the illistrations in the manual are not 100% accurate. all the lines and dimples line up properly except for the intake cam on the forward cylinder. the alignment marks are off about 1/8" and if i move the gear one tooth over it gets worst. So my question to anyone that knows the 86 motor is this normal because i would hate to have to pull this thing apart again. see my picture below.
Thanks so much for your help.

Looks Good!

Thats exactly how it looked on my '90 before I put in my Andrews cams.

If the #3 cam mark was higher than the #2 cam mark....you would have been off by a tooth.
