I've been running the switches lately. I've been changing maps every evening. Going back to revisit the Rico maps.

Have you got it to the point that it's hard to actually tell the difference between one set of switch settings or another? Or does each change have a definite difference?

Scott
The "Nomad" is a Big Bore map when set to 5-5 as I understand it
Its a Stage I map at 8 initial switch
Rico wrote it while I was holding a 1911A1 to his head !
I dynoed it both ways and the Initial switch at 8 pulled my best ever
Rico might not agree but he argued with me about the Jester as well

The "Nomad isn't a big bore map per say...it was never intended as a map for street use at all. It is an R&D map which was written for rocketdude. He asked for a map that he could safely add or subtract 5 degrees of advance while on the dyno with his Stage 1.

I'll send it to anyone who wants it, but again...it wasn't written to improve performance.

Scott, I've sent it to your email. I still have it in my map library as R&D map, I didn't save it with the Nomad name.

I've settled on 6.0 switch settings. It feels better than 5.0. The biggest difference I can tell is when I offset the rear cylinder. Keep in mind I'm also boosting the fuel. I've ran it as high as 98 octane but have got it down to 93 now. It doesn't seem to like 91 in this heat. Went on a 5 hour ride yesterday with a friend who rides a 1000 cc Vstrom. What a nice bike that is! My bike ran fine I just couldn't keep up with him in the turns. Of course I ride a lot more conservatively now since the wreck and that Vstrom rides and handles like a dream. That being said, my friend still out rode me when he was on my bike. I've been operating the bike in 80-100*+ temps. I'll probably quit boosting the fuel when the weather cools down. That brings up another point, the weather, the bike seems to like cooler moist air better than hot dry air. There are to many variables to make a definitive observation when the only tool I'm using to help decide what changes if any I need to make is my ass. I've got over 3,000 miles on the build now and it's still ticking and when it's hot, it really ticks. When it's cold, it sounds fine.

How far have you offset the rear cylinder Scott, and can you describe your impressions?

All I've done is retard the rear cylinder 1*. It didn't seem to idle or run as smooth as when not offset. It sounded more like a 2 into 2 bike. Offsetting the rear cylinder didn't seem to offer any performance gain that I could tell. A dyno test may tell a different tale.

Hey Scott, have you tried the King Jester? That's what I'm running and I like it a lot.

Now if I could just get time to get me jetting down and then on the dyno
