I have my XL1200C configured the same way. I like the mid controls for most driving and the twisties. The forwards are nice for the long hauls. One cool thing I figured out, with a 10-1/2 size shoe I can rest my heal on the mids and my toes on the forwards. Kinda reminds me of floorboards...
