Hmm. I was hoping someone more experienced would answer this, but I'll take a stab at it so it will at least get bumped. :bump

Here is what I CAN tell you: the 2004 Sporty stock rear wheel is 16x3 as you said, and comes with a 150mm tire (mayyybe 160 Metzler). You cannot put a wider tire than that back there without doing a chain conversion or getting a new swingarm. If you do the chain conversion you can fit a 180mm tire -- just barely. With a new swingarm you can do 200 or even 230/240, but that's quite a project.

that's all I can tell you, I hope that was somewhat helpful ... let's see if someone else has more info.

btw can I ask WHY you want to do this? I'm not seeing the benefit. I mean, if you want a fatter tire back there you need a wider wheel than 3.5" to mount it on ... like a 5.5" for a 180-200mm tire.

Hi thanks for the answer.
I don’t want to make great modifications: swingarm,200mm tire etc.
I want only put the 16”x3.5” 80 Spoke Rear Wheel with the 150 mm tire.
I ask if I put 3.5” I have some problems with chain or other…I don’t know it.

You'll have no problems at all with a 3.5" rim. The 150 tire will actually fit better on it than on the 3" rim.

well whaddya know. see I learned something. :D

The whole rim size vs. tire size thing confuses me still.
