I gotta tip my hat to the folks at Capital City HD in Tallahassee. They made purchasing a new Harley effortless. Their pricing was fair. Customer service
was exemplary. For almost three months now, the dealership has been routinely checking with me to make sure everything is alright. No pitch. Nothing. I have spoken with the owner about parts/accessory discounts...there are none. It won't change. We respected each other's position and he understands I will be mail ordering my parts from dealers that WILL discount.

I often wonder how much longer dealers will be able to keep doing business if they can't keep up with the internet. Chicago HD seems to be able to a good in store and internet business but the smaller dealers may have trouble.

:headbang Of course most riders probably would have the dealer do the work so I guess I'm just plain wrong.

I, personally, think that most dealerships will do just fine. I think it's a fair bet that many, if not most, owners really don't want to wrench on their bikes. Guys I know that can turn wrenches would rather pay the dealer or indie to do it for them as they would rather be doing something else. I respect that. I just really enjoy turning wrenches...as long as I don't have to do it anymore.

Some of the dealers that offer the 20 percent off are smaller than my local( I did mention that I really liked Capital City HD :) ), so I don't shed any tears about it. There is the 'sucker price' that is MSRP, and there is 'street price'. I prefer to pay the latter.
