Since the members map is under way I thought of a new map so XLF'ers can mark their favorite rides. I'm sure there could be duplicates so only add markers for roads that haven't been posted yet.

Use the detailed marker to add as much info as you can about the road. An image, web link or any thing you feel will help anyone that might want to check it out.

I started it with my favorite, Skyline Drive... but will be adding more local roads when I can.

If it's a long road like the Pacific Coast Highway that stretches an entire coast then put your marker or markers on the section you are most familiar with. If another XLF'er knows another section he/she can place a marker on their section. Or if you know the entire road place multiple markers on appropriate locations.

Added one of my favorites. This will be great for my summer trip thru the south! - thanks.

Can you see who added a favorite? If not, it might be good to add your username just in case someone needs more info.

Another great idea Kevin! I used to live in Lynchburg VA, there is a LOT of beautiful riding on the Blue Ridge Parkway just South of where you posted skyline drive. It looks like when I go visit my mother next time, I need to stop on Skyline Drive somewhere and pay up on that hug. :)

I added a field to the description window "submitted by" so a member can contact them through a pm.

My hope on this map is that members from all over can put their favorite rides here so if someone is planning to go through an area they can get an insiders look in to the good rides.

I've just stuck the thread. I would have done it sooner, but I only just realised that it wasn't already stuck.

Just added my favorite ride in Colorado, the San Juan Skyway Loop in southwest CO. Gorgeous views of the San Juans, high mountain passes, great twisties.

Added one I found last year on my Labor Day ride in western PA - PA 281 from US 40 to US 30. Great road with windy turns going up and over a mountain and then some scenic farmland as you get closer to Somerset PA.

Drops you on US 30 not too far from the flight 93 memorial which is a few miles south of US 30

Added one what? Did you add a forum member that you found on the road somewhere?

I added a map entry: Highway 1 beginning in Daly City, CA. It runs up and down the coast of most of the state and I am sure the whole way is beautiful, but I just plotted the starting point for near where I live.

I started adding event markers. So If there is a rally or event in your area that is established add it to the map.

Thanks

Just added another road. PA 120 from Lockhaven PA to Emporium PA. 75 miles of great countryside. Lots of this:

I just was in TN and did a bit of the Dragon. Not impressed. However, on my way home, I found a nice stretch of RT 70 from Rogersville TN to Jonesville, VA which was pretty cool. Not much in the way of towns, but there is gas at Jonesville.
