Looks like they're aiming at some of the BMW bikes.

It may be a shot at the BMW and KTM new ones...$11,500.00 seemed a little steep, but maybe not when compared to the competition! I'm intrigued...can't wait for some reports on how she does...I think it could do double duty as a cafe runner, too...get some good pipes on it, and.....hello!

That would be perfect for up here in the mountains where I live!
I think I'd put a chain drive on it though, not sure how they figure a belt drive will hold up on an adventure bike.
I could care less what it looks like, hell all those adventure bikes are fugly if ya ask me,just the nature of the beast I think.
I wonder if we'll see 'em go to Dakar head to head with the beemers and ktms.I've wanted a Sporty based off road capeable scoot for years,I've even found myself way up some dirt roads in the mountains on my Electraglide where I really shouldnt be heh heh.
It shocked the sh!t out of some guys in a Jeep last summer when they came around a corner up on the slopes of Mt.St.Helens and found me enjoying the view a good half dozen or more miles from the nearest pavement lol.
I hope buell sells a butt load of 'em so maybe I can snap up a used one a year or two down the road ;)

I was really disappointed that they parts-binned the wheels. I'm not sure if the industry has knobbies that fit that wide of a wheel.

The tires that are on it have kinda deep sipes but in reality, I don't think they would hold up on any roads except for the sissy stuff that I ride my Sportster on.

I would rather see something like this:

Apparently this belt is indestructable and is warrantied for the life of the bike. I read on another group that they shot bullets at it - put rocks in the pulley - completely punished it - and it still ran great.

Unfortunately, no.

The owner lives in the Phoenix area though. Right now, I think the bike is apart getting modified some more. I actually saw the bike once at a bar in Cave Creek called The Hideaway. It looks INCREDIBLY badass in person. The picture doesn't do it justice.

I'd be very interested in finding out how the owner went about creating this custom baja beast. I've been looking for an excuse to buy another sporty and this looks like it would be a fun project. Do you have any other info on this conversion?

I love that bike. I'm thinking of trading in my XB9R for one next year.

I would love to have one of those Buell's to reside in my garage next to the Sportster. Ah, the places I could go with that!:tour
